Thor: Ragnarok

Pop comics. Worked in Ant-man, though this felt like it was a parody of Thor et al; a sort-of Thor does Fifth Element.  All the meat of the story glossed over. Pretty, but not much else. Sorry guys.

Poster for the movie "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey"

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

Technically this was a brilliant film. You really felt like you were back in Middle Earth. However, I found the movie a little slow for my liking. Much of this part was narrative and exposition – important stuff to be sure, just ponderous at times. As it’s a 12, the gravity of the adventure is very light at times feeling like it is aimed at a younger audience (OK, the book was originally for Tolkein’s kids, but hey ;-).
