More of the same from Guy Ritchie, Holmes & Watson. The originality of the first one has worn off, and while this is well implemented and visually stunning in places, it feels a little “grey”. It’s a good piece and Moriarty – well played by Jared Harris – is a good arch villain. I felt that Holmes’ visualisation routine was a little overplayed, though the bullet time elements worked well. Enjoyable but not as much as the first.
Actors: Jude Law
The CG work was exceptional – as you’d come to expect from Dreamworks – though the plot felt a little lacklustre in places. A good family flick with potential for future instalments or prequels which show imagination and poignancy. The idea of this film is to find one’s centre – a truism valid for each of us told through a story. Maybe we can all take note and become better humans 😉
