Poster for the movie "The Family"

The Family

Definitely Besson again, though less comedic than expected and much more violent, especially towards the end. Some nice flourishes but overall not my kind of movie.

Poster for the movie "Angel-A"

Angel-A

Visually stunning in black-and-white. It’s a French film with subtitles (some may be put off by this), and the unlikely pairing of a statuesque supermodel Angel with a low-self-esteem, disabled guy who’s fallen in with the wrong crowd works as she helps him understand what life is about, why it’s worth living and how to live it. One of those inspirational films that warm your heart and picks you up when you’re feeling low. Beautiful.
