This felt like watching the [cut] cut-scenes from a video game. OK, it’s based on a video game, but this umpteenth instalment shows more of the same trademark WS Anderson & Milla Jovovich action that we have seen before. Our heroine wakes in a secret prison and fights her way out – just like most action games. Even the monsters are repeats of previous instalments and the ending sets up for the next instalment – Resident Evil: Overkill?
Collections: Paul W.S. Anderson
While remaining fairly true to the original story, the addition of floating airships (literally), trademark Paul WS Anderson 3D-isms & Milla Jovovich, this felt like a return to the camp outings of previous Musketeers incarnations with a side helping of Resident Evil 3D (wirework, etc, minus monsters). It’s basically a romp, rather than a film. Popcorn required.
