History of the World: Part I

Never got round to seeing this back in the 80s, so on the strength of a recommendation, I took a look. As you’d expect, it’s dated now and the laughs are more chuckles – the set up feels a little Vaudevillian, but then my 80s comedy diet was more Monty Python (which I can see reflections of here). Overall, a blend of Mel Brooks stand-up, tongue-in-cheek musical numbers and a touch of gaucheness.

History of the World: Part I

An uproarious version of history that proves nothing is sacred – not even the Roman Empire, the French Revolution and the Spanish Inquisition.
