Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows

More of the same from Guy Ritchie, Holmes & Watson. The originality of the first one has worn off, and while this is well implemented and visually stunning in places, it feels a little “grey”. It’s a good piece and Moriarty – well played by Jared Harris – is a good arch villain. I felt that Holmes’ visualisation routine was a little overplayed, though the bullet time elements worked well. Enjoyable but not as much as the first.

There is a new criminal mastermind at large (Professor Moriarty) and not only is he Holmes’ intellectual equal, but his capacity for evil and lack of conscience may give him an advantage over the detective.
