The Untethered Soul: The Journey Beyond Yourself

This is the advanced manual to a life of abundance and joy. Incredible. It is an effective guide to unlocking the prisons we create for ourselves through inner mental constructs we make to protect our perceived fragility as directed by the ego. But by understanding exactly who we are – which is not the sum of our experiences, our mental chatter, our fears, our emotions, or any of that stuff – we can live a more expansive and vibrant life. Every chapter is poignant and enlightening and stand-out points for me were: The importance of death as a teacher of what it means to live freely. The first section on…

Struggling with Negative Emotions? There is a Path to Joy

Do you feel you suffer from depression, jealousy, anger, hatred, overwhelm, or even just boredom? Maybe not all the time, but from time to time? We all do. It’s normal. But you can raise your spirits and get out of the doldrums. Here’s how. Abraham-Hicks Emotional Scale I have been reading Super Attractor by Gabrielle Bernstein and chapter four discussed the Abraham-Hicks Emotional Guidance Scale in depth. It is an elegant tool which maps out a path from depression at the lowest end of the scale to joy at the highest end. Here is that scale: Joy / Appreciation / Empowered / Freedom / Love Passion Enthusiasm / Eagerness /…

    Feeling is the Secret

Written in 1944, this short, short book contains the essence of much of the popular personal development work of today proving that nothing really changes but we all need our own lens to see it through. The book’s title is succinct enough to explain the contents, but I would also recommend reading books like The Secret or some of the others I have posted reviews about that relate to manifestation, abundance, et al. At only 40 minutes, this is an easy one to add to your list and read when you have a few minutes.

The Universe Has Your Back: Transform Fear to Faith

I first listened to this audiobook two years ago, almost to the day. Having just finished Gabby’s Judgement Detox: Release the Beliefs That Hold You Back from Living a Better Life, I thought it time to re-read this earlier work and see if my view had changed. Having read numerous books on personal development, spirituality, magic, ekstasis, et al, in the interim I found this book more accessible and following similar lines with sound meditative practices built in to help you open up to the soul of the universe (i.e. your own soul, as you’ll discover from the many other metaphysical and development books). This helps you get into your flow, or…

    Real Magic

Excellent read. This reminded me a lot of Stealing Fire (which I read recently), though it comes at the state of ekstasis (here gnosis, or the state of oneness) from a different perspective – one that the underlying principle is that magick (sic) is real, the universe is built on the fundamental basis of a single oneness, and that this oneness pervades all things. magick is thus the principles and practice of accessing this state (and meditation counts). The book discusses many experiments that have been done, much of the research that has been published in revered scientific journals, and much of the bad press that is given to magic.…
